How it works
In the event of an eligible major incident, affected members of the public seek free legal advice using the Legal Pro Bono platform.
Participation will be voluntary. As a panel member, you will be able to:
- log in to the platform to review and assign suggested pro bono cases within your firm
- review applications before deciding to take on a case
The platform is secure, accessible and well equipped to coordinate the pro bono work of law firms.
Once you have registered, our partner LawWorks will contact you with:
- advice on setting up your account
- training session details
Who can use the platform
The current platform is designed for practitioners who are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) rather than lawyers and other legal professionals.
Respond to major incidents
The platform is currently not taking requests.
With LawWorks, we continuously monitor various incidents, and if a major event occurs that is appropriate for the Legal Pro Bono platform, we will:
- contact panel members directly
- publish information for the public on how to submit requests
Pledge your support
Although we hope that this platform will not be necessary, we ask that law firms be ready to help in the event of a major incident in the future.
SRA-regulated practitioners can apply to become panel members.
Our partner LawWorks will provide administrative assistance for the Legal Pro Bono platform.
