My LS July 2022 draw

The prize is a £500 voucher of the Lifestyle Checkwhich is reimbursable with more than 140 companies.

Terms of the My LS draw – July 2022

  1. This draw is open to all members of the Bar who:
    • have a verified My LS account; and
    • have registered their work practice and type of organization on the “account settings” page of My LS; and
    • have recorded one or more answers on the “my characteristics” page of My LS;
  2. before the draw deadline.

    To note:

  • a verified My LS account is a My LS account that has been successfully associated with SRA data
  • see the FAQ below for more information on accessing the “account settings” and “my features” pages of My LS
  • it will be a valid answer on the My LS “my characteristics” page, for the purposes of the draw, to choose not to answer any question and click on “save”
  • The names of all members of the Law Society who qualify for the draw will automatically be entered into the draw after the draw deadline. If you do not wish to be registered, please email [email protected]
  • Only one entry per person will be registered for the draw.
  • The deadline for entering the prize draw is 11:59 p.m. on Friday, July 22 (“Prize Draw Deadline”). Changes made to My LS accounts after this time will not qualify a member to participate in the sweepstakes.
  • The Law Society accepts no responsibility for registrations which have not been successfully registered due to a technical fault of any kind.
  • A winner will be chosen from the list of participants by random draw conducted by a computer process on Friday, July 29.
  • The winner will receive a £500 voucher redeemable across multiple organisations. Prize is not exchangeable or transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
  • The winner will be notified by email or phone (using your My LS account details) by Wednesday, August 3 and will be required to provide their details to claim their prize. If a winner does not respond to the Law Society within 14 days of notification by the Law Society, the winner’s prize will be forfeited and the Law Society will have the right to select an alternate winner in accordance with the process described above.
  • The prize will be sent to the winner by e-mail within 14 days of notification of their win.
  • The winner’s prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
  • The decision of the Law Society regarding any aspect of the draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard.
  • The Law Society is required to publish or make available information indicating that a valid award has been made. To comply with this obligation, the Law Society will send the name and county of the prize winner to anyone who emails [email protected] within one month of the draw deadline by lot. If you object to the publication or making available of all or part of your surname, county and winning entry, please email [email protected] Please note that in such circumstances the Law Society must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
  • Entrants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. The Law Society reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the prize to anyone who breaches these terms and conditions.
  • The Law Society reserves the right to rescind, rescind, suspend or modify this sweepstakes promotion if it becomes necessary to do so.
  • Personal data provided during this promotion will only be processed in accordance with the Law Society’s privacy policy.
  • The prize draw will be governed by English law and entrants to the prize draw submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.

    Am I eligible to participate in the raffle?

    If you are a member of the Law Society and have followed the steps outlined in the question above, you will automatically be included in the draw.

    If you are not a member of the Law Society, you will not be included in the draw.

    When will the draw take place?

    The draw will take place on Friday July 29 and the winner will be contacted within 2 working days of the draw.

    How can I withdraw from the draw?

    To opt out of the draw, please email [email protected] and you will be removed from the draw.

    When does participation in the raffle end?

    The deadline is Friday, July 22 at 11:59 p.m. Any newly verified and updated accounts after this time will not be included in the draw.

    What is the purpose of the draw?

    We are holding the lottery to celebrate this summer’s Bar Council elections and to ensure that as many members as possible can vote for contested seats when they are eligible to do so.
