Meet the Small Business Committee

Our committee promotes the interests of the community and helps us provide effective support to lawyers working in the sector.

Emma MacPherson

Emma started ELM Solicitors in 2009 and has grown the practice since then, but always keeping the service very personal and client-focused.

Emma is a member of Resolution and a trained collaborating lawyer. Emma is a former chair and trustee of the charity MATCH (Mothers Apart from Their Children) and taught family law part-time at Ruskin College, Oxford.

Marcus Hayes

Marcus HayesMarcus is principal of the specialist law firm Mason Hayes. He is a seasoned litigator, advising on the most complex and high-value disputes, and also has a specialized interest in increasing diversity within the legal industry.

In 2009, Marcus established the Mason Hayes Charitable Trust to support potential candidates for the legal profession through mentorship, financial support, an award-winning work experience program and sponsored awards.

Satpal Roth

Satpal RothA busy mother of two, Satpal set up her own firm, Kher Solicitors Ltd, after graduating in criminal litigation in 2003. She later joined the CPS, gaining its higher hearing rights, and became a barrister in 2007 .

Satpal has worked in the area of ​​commercial crime and regulation and in 2010 made the courageous decision to start his own firm.

Satpal is a well-known regional practitioner who has won awards and been recognized for her work. She now specializes solely in criminal litigation and regulatory law. His firm holds a legal aid contract in criminal matters and obtained Lexcel accreditation in 2017.

Sally Azami

Sally AzamiSally founded the city law firm Azarmi & Company Ltd in 2012 after 18 years of practice as a solicitor and partner in major law firms.

Azarmi & Company specializes in immigration, employment, international trade and shipping, and has an international clientele. Clients include other law firms and professional partnerships in the UK and overseas.

Robert Banner

Robert BannerRobert is the Executive Director of Banner Jones Ltd, a business he has run for over 20 years.

During this period the business grew from three partners to 19 directors (after incorporation) and from one office to six in Yorkshire and North Derbyshire. He is currently Chair of the Law Management Section.

Linda Felton

Linda FeltonHaving started her legal career in local government, Linda established Fortune Green Legal Practice in 2011.

The firm is a niche firm specializing in advising property owners and developers on all aspects of town planning and land use planning law.

Huw Bowden

Huw BowdenHuw has over 20 years of experience specializing in white collar crime and complex fraud. He is a solicitor and represents individuals and businesses across the UK.

Bowden Jones Ltd, which he set up with Stephen Jones in 2003, is based in Cardiff, recognized by Legal 500 as a Tier 1 firm and Huw as one of Wales’ leading personalities.

Nick Woolf

Nick WoolfNick is the Principal of Nicholas Woolf & Co, a niche international business and family law firm in Chancery Lane, established in 2011, specializing in shareholder, director, partnership and estate litigation.

Nick has over 40 years of experience in small practices or as an independent practitioner. He is a member of Resolution, Proceeds of Crime Lawyers’ Association (POCLA), Professional Negligence Lawyers Association (PNLA) and an executive member of the Sole Practitioners Group (SPG).

Antoine Comte

Antoine ComteAnthony is a managing attorney at Earl and Crocker Solicitors, a firm he has headed for over twenty years. The firm is a general practice and has three offices located in Cornwall.

Anthony specializes in commercial and residential property and was President of the Cornwall Law Society in 2015/16 and President of the Association of South Western Law Societies in 2017/18.

Reach Akhtar

Parvié NakhtarParvien is the founding director of Bright Legal Solicitors in Leicester. She graduated as a lawyer in 1998 and has over 20 years of litigation experience.

In addition to running her law firm, Parvien is also involved in real estate development and investment. Parvien is also a committee member of the Leicestershire Law Society.
